Decorating with White: The Cottage House

I have about a million pictures from my friend Melissa's wedding this weekend, but while I sort through those, let me share with you the BEAUTIFUL bed & breakfast the bridesmaids stayed at.  It was unlike any place I'd stayed at before and has me thinking on how I can decorate with whites & neutrals.

The Cottage House, in Thompson, CT was just big enough to hold 6 bridesmaids & guests, the bride's parents, and our little ring bearer and flower girl.  I was blown away by the decor when we walked in...

With all main elements in the room done in white, ivory, or tan, it felt like you were stepping into the most relaxing beach house.  Fluffy beds and overstuffed sofas plus dishes with shells, seastars, & white candles...

All rooms opened into one another, railroad style, but still had separate entrances and bathrooms and could be closed off.  Below is the view from my room at the far end of the house...

All of this decor has me dreaming about decorating with whites and neutrals.  How sweet is this collection of straw hats in the hallway?

...and speaking of white, here's a shot of the wedding dress.  When I was first going through my room, I didn't notice it hanging on the wall - it blended in so well with the decor.

What do you think about decorating with white?  Are you as smitten with this place as I am?  Let me know what you think and stay homey!
