Front Door Planter

It's a little embarrassing to admit that my front door has still been rocking the same wreath I made for Thanksgiving.  After Turkey Day, I put on a red bow to make it Christmas-y, and then sometime after Christmas in late January, I took off the red bow and just let it be.

So here we were, in June, with a vaguely cotton-bud-looking wreath hanging on the door...

(I should mention that we have bigger plans for the door.  We want to paint it a punchy color and update the hardware.  We'll do it someday.  Maybe on a weekend when we don't have a wedding, bridal shower, or bachelorette party.  Or maybe when that mythical weekend comes, I'll be sleeping late.)

Anyway, I was able to update the door quickly for summer with a wall planter (ordered from Amazon), filled with a few plants I picked up at my last trip to the grocery store.

I wanted big, colorful flowers, but since our front door is on a porch and gets zero direct sunlights, I settled for some low light flowers and hanging vines.

I love this quick and relatively easy upgrade to our front door decor!  Once we paint the front door, I'd like to move the hook that the planter hangs from so it's a bit lower.  Besides that, I think it's a great summer solution and I love coming home to see it.  Let me know what you think and stay homey!
