Hardly Housewives Super Bowl Dish of the Year

My husband and I are so fortunate to have such a great group of friends in Chicago.  We are even more fortunate that they all love to EAT and appreciate good food like we do.  This year, we hosted the very first Annual Super Bowl Iron Chef Competition.  I have been out of my mind with excitement all week.

Since this is an Iron Chef competition after all, there can only be one winner.  All of the dishes were judged by me according to taste and presentation.

And the winner is...drum roll please...

...Team Bill & Colleen!
I am a sucker for anything pork related which is why they probably made this.  These simple ham and cheese sliders get toasted in the oven and then drizzled with this amazing poppy seed, oniony, buttery, love nectar on top.  HOLY COW I think I ate 34 of these.  I will get the exact recipe for you guys and post.  Stay tuned.  I will be making these every day at 11am and 4pm sharp.

Robert, the happy looking fellow in the Harvard sweatshirt in the middle was the runner up!

Check.  These.  Wings.  Out.  Robert slaved away outside on the grill, crisping these up to perfection and then tossed them in this amazing sauce.   They were smokey and delicious.  I'll also get the recipe for this and share it.

This is Todd.  He's always this happy.  He came in third place with a killer dish.

I mean...check these out.  He lined a muffin tin with a biscuit, making a well in the middle for chili.  Then, once they were baked to golden perfection, he sprinkled some cheddar cheese on top.  These were RIDICULOUSLY good.  What an awesome way to use chili - yum yum drool to the face.

I will be posting all of the other awesome dishes later on so stay tuned and stay hungry!

  1. when I lived in the south, there was a similar ham and cheese slider type thing a lot of families made that was baked in the oven. Bill and Colleen's winner reminds me of this dish... I'll have to dig it up!

    1. Please do! I make "Easter Sliders" with honey baked ham and honey butter but never thought about toasting them in the oven like this with the glaze. SO GOOD.
