My friend Bridget is a historian. I was talking about ornaments with her and she suggested making gilded walnuts - a popular Victorian Christmas tradition. Instead of using gold leaf, though, let's use gold acrylic paint instead, okay?
Luckily, I had some gold paint left over from when my friend Jen and I dressed as computer parts for Halloween two years ago...
Anyway.
To make gilded walnut ornaments, you'll need:
walnuts
gold paint
ribbon
straight pins
Once the walnuts are gilded, fold your ribbon into a loop and, using a straight pin, pin the loop onto the walnut.
fun!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Salla - these were super simple!
